We are three books in, and this journey is taking root.
We began with The Alchemist, which lifted us high and reminded us of our personal and collective purpose. We then sat with The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, a sobering, necessary reckoning that deepened our resolve to walk in that purpose with intention, integrity, and truth.
Now, we return to the land.
Our next read is The Market Gardener, and we are grounding ourselves, literally and spiritually, in the healing power of soil, sweat, and shared sustenance. After everything we have learned and felt together, this next chapter is not just about farming. It is about recovery, restoration, and resilience.

I AM GREEN'S ELC PRE-APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

The Roots of Success pre-apprenticeship program is offered to I Am Green participants and is articulated to the Roots of Success Pre-Apprenticeship Standards. Our ELC pre-apprenticeship programs build the basic literacy, math, and work-readiness skills today’s employers require, and help workers, including youth and job seekers with beginner skill levels, begin a pathway to a career. The pre-apprenticeship is articulated to the Environmental Specialist apprenticeship, but the program also prepares pre-apprentices to enter and succeed in Registered Apprenticeships, advanced studies, and/or 100+ jobs and career pathways in the waste, water, transportation, energy, building, food, agricultural, and open space sectors.
