The Plot Twist & Produce HUB:
What'Next?
We Are Planning.
We are four books in, and this journey is taking root.
We began with The Alchemist, which reminded us of purpose and possibility. We then read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, a necessary reckoning that strengthened our resolve to move with integrity and truth. We returned to the land with The Market Gardener and grounded ourselves in practical knowledge and low-tech ways to grow on a small scale. We ended 2025 with It’s a Very Kwanzaa Xmas. We gathered virtually for six days, then came together in person on the seventh to exchange gifts, energy, love, and commitment.
Now we are planning for the next growing season.
What are we going to sow? Is the land telling us it is ready? What does readiness look like? Do we have enough space, knowledge, tools, and resources?
We say yes, because we have each other.
Come meet up with us, help us choose the next book, and help us map out what we are putting into the ground. Tap in.

I Am Green is pleased to announce the evolution of our community gathering space from the Plot Twist and Produce Club to the Plot Twist and Produce HUB.
This transition reflects our continued growth and our commitment to creating a central place where rural community members can exchange ideas, share resources, and strengthen local resilience.
The new name better aligns with our expanded mission. The word HUB communicates what this space has become for Hancock County and the surrounding region, a place to read together, exchange crops and seeds, build relationships, and participate in projects that advance environmental literacy, food security, community wellness, and adult literacy.
At Plot Twist & Produce HUB, literacy is more than reading. Literacy is the ability to understand, retain, and apply knowledge to real-life situations. We strengthen literacy through community conversation, practical learning, and shared action, in a relaxed setting that honors our neighbors and the land we depend on.
While our gatherings will continue to include books and produce, the Plot Twist and Produce HUB now represents something more. It is a developing center for rural collaboration, a space that brings residents, growers, partners, and supporters together to cultivate solutions, strengthen connections, and expand what is possible for our communities.
For more information or to get involved, contact us and follow our upcoming announcements.

December Plot Twist & Produce Hub Meet-Up!
The Market Gardener challenged us to think about scale, not big land and big equipment, but smart systems, low tech tools, and making the most of the space we have.
It also challenged our literacy in a real way. The author is French Canadian, and some of the language and phrasing felt different than what we are used to, plus there were technical growing terms that made us slow down, look things up, and make sure we truly understood what we were reading. That is exactly the kind of literacy we are building at the HUB, not just reading words, but comprehending, retaining, and applying what we learn.
The book asked a practical question. Can we come together, grow collectively, and earn a living by bringing our produce to market. What could that look like for each of us. And if growing is not your lane, how can you contribute in a way that fits your gifts, time, and resources.
This book makes it practical. It shows how small scale growing can be profitable, how to work with nature, and how to honor seasons of work and seasons of rest.
Did you get stuck on any vocabulary or concepts. What were your takeaways. Let’s talk about it at the next meet up.
